Sometimes parents or educators may have problem in dealing with challenging behaviors in everyday life at home or child centre. They may seek guidance from professionals strategies to manage specific child behaviors. This course provide insights into factors that influence children's behavior and different techniques in managing children behavior

This section contains list of subtopics which will be covered in each session with students in one semester.

CLO1 :Explain the types and causes of behavioural problems (C2) Chapters: 1.1 Definition of Children and Behaviour 1.2 Characteristics of Young Children 1.3 How Young Children Learn New Behaviour 1.4 Factors Affecting Children’s Behaviour In this chapter, students will learn about characteristics of young children, and how they learn new behavior and what are the factors that may affect their behavior.

CLO1 :Explain the types and causes of behavioural problems (C2) Chapters: 2.1 Effective Families 2.2 Problem Patterns in Family Interaction and Communication 2.3 The Effects of Divorce In this chapter students will learn about various types of family patterns, problems with communication and interaction within the family and the effect of divorce to the young children.

CLO2 :Explain the roles of family and community as behaviour setting (C2) Chapters: 3.1 Causes of Behavior Problems 3.2 Specific Types of Behavior Problems In this chapter, students will be exposed to causes of children's behavior and different types of children's behavior problem such as aggressive behavior, antisocial, disruptive and destructive behavior and etc.

CLO2 :Explain the roles of family and community as behaviour setting (C2) Chapters: 4.1 Introduction 4.2 Reporting and Recording Behaviours 4.3 Working with Parents and Other Professionals 4.4 Physical Punishment in Behaviour Management In this chapter students will be exposed on how to record and report children's behavior during and after observation. In this chapter, it emphasized on how educators can work together with parents and other professional to manage children behavioral problem.

CLO3 :Use different approach of dealing with children behaviours (C3) Chapters: 5.1 Guidance and Discipline 5.2 Principles of Guidance 5.3 Discipline Strategies 5.4 Guiding Routines 5.5 Dealing with Feelings 5.6 Working with Families and Communities In this chapter, students will be able to learn some of the best strategies to guide and discipline the young children. Dealing with children's issue also will be discussed in this chapter.

CLO3 :Use different approach of dealing with children behaviours (C3) Chapters: 6.1 Determining goals and objectives 6.2 Techniques for Dealing with Inappropriate Behaviors In this chapter, students will be exposed to different techniques of children behavioral intervention such as reinforcement, substitution, discussion and many more.
